Unveiled as one of Luanne's "projects", Victor is a demonkin transformed into a vampire cliche. He has not fully adapted to such a life, and suffers from insomnia. Thus, he roams about both by day and night.

Originally he was interested in Luanne, and during their fling she began his transformation. He moved in to her basement, helped care for the Pup, and grew more interested in Luanne's roommate, Xan. He and Lu remain close friends, and Luanne is very supportive of his interests in Xan.

He enjoys making the object of his affection nervous, because she's just so cute when she's confused. He eventually convinced her to agree to go on one date with him, but they have yet to follow through on that agreement.

Being a vampire suits him better than being an average, run of the mill demonkin. Born and raised on Dis (as were his parents), he's interested in becoming something different from everyone else. He's fascinated by Lu and Xan's experiences outside of Dis, and envy them for their travels.

While he is a prankster like Luanne, he's capable of sincerity and compassion.

How the Character Came About Victor was originally Vincent, but that was just too cliche of a name for a vampire. He comes from an earlier idea for a comic focused on Luanne and Xan, much closer to the World of Darkness RPG system. In that setting, he would have been much more of a poser, since there are already vampires in that world. In Dis, there are no other vampires, so he's more original. Better for the ego.

He's always kind of been a male, quieter, more serious shadow to Luanne. He tends to her projects (the pup) while she's off and away, being Lu. In the original idea, he was much more paternal than she was, and most of the pup's care rested on his shoulders. And he spooked the hell out of Xan, who had a serious blood-purity/anti-vampire thing, so there was no romantic tension. Just the hibbie-jibbies.

Visually, he's changed a lot since the beginning of the comic. I still haven't gotten his skin tone right.
